Hi,

just visit
http://gt4dc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2908&start=0

or in short:

- golpher 40mm radiator
- TRD thermostat
- pipe instead hose from radiator to water pump
- air buffles
- air escape (hood & under panel)

for the future i plan to build a simple channel for the radiator package and if the uprated water pump work fine on the new engine will go for a custom 3flow radiator

don't forget, KEEP COOL UNDER PRESSURE

My car do the thermostat temp too on road and i only have the 2 first point of your list.

And i manage to keep under 85°C on the track after 15' with this MOD :

Full cooling panel (can i call this a big AirDuct?) for IC and RAD

Hello

Before we all start directing air conditioned air into the intake
what is the optimal temperature for the engine to run at?

You must run a thinner oil at lower temperatures?

Is there any correlation between engine and intake temperatures?

Curious.

Stephen

Hi,

merlin, very well made 8)
i will do i a little bit simple, i just want to give the intercooler pre-radiator air baffels next year when i build a custom radiator

try point 3 (pipe) on my list, this was a big improvement on my car :)

toyokid, oil and water temps are controlled by thermostats, but you become more reserves
not just the temp. is crucial for the viscosity of the oil, also the bearing clearances and hertzian stress play in this game

no, there is no true correlation

folks,
a pushing type fan has only 70% of the erergy of a pushing type, as the rotor redirect the air before she must flow trough the straight fins of the radiator core, the air doesn't want this and makes a back pressure in front of the radiator that lowers the air flow

Great picture Bozo - that's a great baffle/air duct!

Thanks all but it's mixer72 topic and i just want to give him an idea.

13 row on driver side for engine (too small, need a 16 row) and 13 row on passenger side for gearbox (probably a bit too big), but i don't want them on the way to rad so use hole in the CS bumper under indicator.

I actually work on the car, i will share you everything about "La GrOsse" as soon as the cooling system is complete (i only kept the EVO IC).

Looking at doing the same setup for my 185 track build - nice to see it done already - very useful as a template :D

update on the maping car is all runing great i will say that is does seem to be spooling and pulling harder than last time :) we did try and run it a t 1.6bar but it star to knock to much so left it at 1.4-1.5bar, rely happy with the whay it drives as for engine temps the water dident go over 93c and it was being puched very hard so thats good Greg my maper said that all the temps were very good, so it looks like to get any more power ill have to change to a biger turbo but that will have to be a mod for an other day :)
