Any one else with Mario's teflon bushing for rear SUBFRAME ?

I was trying to replace mine yesterday, but I discovered this "little" difference: what do you think?

It would look about right if you peeled the existing rubber mount off of it's metal backplate

It's a bit hard to see, is the top flat?

The upper rubber mount is actually a cup kind of thing so it might fit over the top of the new bushing

Btw, looking at the epc, there is no rubber mount over the stock rubber bushing...

If you look HERE where I stripped the rear subframe there's some shots of the main mounting points with

the washers

part number is
52272-20030 STOPPER, REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER, UPPER

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the underside to show. It has a stup in the centre which slides over the metal insert in the centre of the standard subframe bushing, then a gap then a ring of rubber which contacts the circular part of the subframe itself

To be honest I doubt if it matters if you remove that washer and use Marios bushings directly against the chassis. The difference will not be very large and you'll only lower the rear (the correct way without buggering roll centres) by 5 or 6 mm

Ok, now I hope I understand what you meant.... would be very difficult even in Italian to explain and understand via Internet! :wink:

Mario's bushings already have nylon cAp for the nylon cUp (like the stock rubber bushing, the lower rubber cUp and the rubber cAp that goes up, against the chassis).
The fact is that, as you told and as seen in my pic, the thickness is different:
yes, I'll lower the rear, that way, but I will also reduce the clearance between the carbon DS (diameter way bigger than stock) and the chassis...
and I already removed a chassis reinforcement, under the handbrake lever, because it touched the DS...

Yes sure, but only difference is that the rubber OVER the subframe has not the same thickness (as it appears on your draw) of the nylon spacer...

BTW Mario just replied me he's on holiday, and will help asap...

To me the rubber looks the same size as the bushing

The rubber has a metal backing plate attached though (this is what presses against the chassis) and I think it's this that makes the difference in the thickness

Ah ok, now I understand your point of view!
there is not any metal plate against the chassis, all you see, and it seems to be divided in two parts, it's all one piece of rubber....

it may not be obvious but the rubber is stuck on to a circular metal backing plate. You van just see it in the photo and it should be clear in the diagrams

I think you'll need to make up a metal spacer to replicate that so that Marios bush + spacer is the same thickness as the stock rubber bush on its backplate

On the ST185 forum someone just wrote that ST185 has lower than ST205 rubber bushing on top... touche' :D
