Question: Does any one know what the master cylinder piston sizes are in a 185 and 205? Or is there are any other bigger master cylinders that will bolt on to a 185? Cheers guys, Dorris

Don't know the sizes off the top of my head but wonder what you're aiming to do? I read somewhere that if you want more braking effort you actually need to go down in master cylinder size

I know where your coming from Don with the theory of the smaller master cylinder verses a bigger slave cylinder; it’s all part of Pascal's principles etc, etc, all boring stuff! Had to learn it all as hydraulics is a big part of my job, anyway hopefully it will all become apparent once I’ve finished but I’ve still yet to find the facilities to get the engine out and stripped before I do anything else, again work getting in the way. I can't remember where I got my info since it was so long ago but in the evo8 caliper thread I posted.

st205 Master Cylinder bore: 24mm

I have read the 185 w/ abs has a 1" bore, while the non abs has a 15/16".

So 24mm is very close to 1".
I am unsure if there was a non abs 205. If there is there may be additional data floating around for alternate MC sizes.
