i think your car would look better if the bonnet was red, dont like the odd coloured bonnet "taxi" look. It would suit the new look better too, although i think the roof needs something.

Good to see you following Colin Chapman's advice of 'adding more lightness' :D

I got rid of most of the double skinning on mine and drilled loads of lightening holes but I wasn't sure how much scope you had for this with a bolt-in cage. My shell was pretty flimsy once I'd done all of that but it didn't matter so much as I have a full weld-in cage which is almost a spaceframe chassis

bit of an update been bizy turning the stock sump into a baffled sump

as some of you know the stock st185sump is not very good for track use as there are no baffles in it so help stop oil starvation, this is what the stock sump looks like under the top plate, as you can see it needs some baffles to help stop oil starvation, so guess what I’m doing to be doing it :)

here are some photos of the sump so far

first drill out all the stop welds holing the top plate in

Image

here you can see just what is under the top plate
Image
Image
Image

as you can see not much there to stop the oil from sloshing around and getting oil starvation

this the top plate
Image
Image
again nothing to stop the oil starvation

so after a good clean its ready to have the baffles fitted
Image

got 1 more to fit at the top end

Image
Image
Image
Image

just 1 more baffle to finish off and fit
Image

finished of the baffled sump to day

Image
Image
Image

and I have all so added a crank breather to the sum to help get rid of the crank pressure
Image

just need to give it all a good clean and paint the out side of the sump and it can be fitted
