Looking at the bottom of the three smaller pictures you can see that the 4 holes are in the same place.....or thereabouts anyway. What therefore stops the cone being fitted to the CS?

The bottom pic shows the turbo side of the AFM, which I'll connect with a hose (80 mm ID) to a straight intake. In the pic in the middle you see the AFM side - you can see the bolting points don't even come close to the normal AFM..

No problem Rene. Which filter do you intend to fit once your adaptor plate is made?
I'd like either the K&N or the Apexi filter.

The adapter I drew is for the A'PEXi Power Intake which I already have on my desk - hence the circle shaped plate with 4 bolting points:

More pics/info are on my website on the modification page.

Afaik the K&N has a clamping point so you only need an AFM adapter plate witch a piece of pipe welded to it. The A'PEXi has been tested as best bang for buck / effective filter a few times, and it's Japanese, so that's why I chose for it :D

p.s. In my post above I mean filter side instead of AFM side

I did not know the Apexi wasn't clamp fit.....mind you....it was on my FTO when I had that.
Thanks for all your advise Rene. I wish you luck getting the adaptor plate sorted out. If you are able to fabricate one with success then please get in touch with me and I'll buy one from you if your ok for me to do that.

Great stuff indeed.

Steve

Im going to be running that filter also, you can guy generic adapters which will fit both AFM and Apexi side for $30AU each. Just go to a local performance shop, they will have them.

Im a bit tight on the old $$, so i made one up.

Rene's design is also good, but when you make up the straight intake, it will hit the coolant overflow bottle, so it will be on an angle, so the placement of the airfilter will matter. And dont forget you will need to extend the AFM plug wiring too.

:D

Does anyone know if the AFM intake pipe is the same diameter for both CS and st185.

Cheers
