does anybody know of a good garage to take an ST205 in the hull area by good i mean somebody who actually knows about these cars specifically, ive taken it to so called specialists before only to be told my head gasket was after market as the stock one is not metal (very worrying as he was allegedly toyotas head mechanic for many years) needless to say they didnt have the car long, i need somebody who can diagnose faults and is pretty accurate as i dont have the funds for guess work anymore. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

the car runs but lumpy untill the revs pick up then it seems fine, but sunday after taking the lambda off for cleaning before its MOT, pulled the dipstick out to take the bolt off and got what i thought was a smell of petrol so dont want to drive it now until its been checked over, it did 500 km last year so i cant warrent spending a lot of money on it so it could be the end..........

When was the last time it got an engine service? Always start with the basics first. Dorris

it was in the process of timing check but could not for the life of me find the timing mark, as for sparks etc all the electric system is brand new less than 2 years old but with about at most 1000 k on them, oil is due a change simply because it has been stood for so long but the oil has got dirty really quick which is a bit concerning, compression check needed just to be sure, but im just not convinced its a service problem because the car just isnt used which is also why its baffling me how its progressed so quickly if its serious with no driving!!!!!

One of the worst things you can do is not drive a car. All sorts of things will start to go wrong as seals dry out and perish, brakes rust, electrical contacts corrode, clutch seizes etc, etc. You get my drift.....
