Hi,

took some time to polish the combustion camber and to calculate the volume, ~48mL

Hi Sunny,

Looks really nice. :)

How did you measure the volume of the combustion chamber?

Taking the piston crown and head gasket into account I presume?

Hi Don,

Piston crown data usually comes on a sheet with the pistons. The volume of the HG can easily be factored in to a calculation.

I am going to need to do this very shortly on my engine to ascertain what HG thickness I need to purchase or if the standard gasket will be suitable.

Hi,

you just need this, the only thing on the foto what is missing is water

the headgasket will be calculated and by bore volume you use the same technic, and then you can easy calculate the CR and prove every cylinder for a equal volume :)

Hi,

lol

- acrylic glass, with holes to fill water in and that air can escape
- lubricating grease to seal the acrylic glass
- a shot with scale to fill in water
- water as liquid to fill the camber (i would use diesel or any other low viscosity oil for the block)

any questions left

Hi Sunny,

Makes sense to me now!

I plan to do the same to measure the combustion chamber volume on my head when I get it back.

Hi,

the engine arrives today

[img][/IMG]

- 86,25mm pistons verbauen
- everything balanced
- everything weight mached
- 3 layer TRD bearings (complete engine)
- repaired crank becouse the crank seal damages the sourface
- 0,05mm decked

and the next is to calculate the volume too to get the CR and then i will slowly begin to assemble everything together

I assume that's calculated with the OEM head gasket? Are you happy with CR of 8.8?

Hi,

and thanks, yes i'am nearly happy my target was 9:1 and it was calculated with 1,2mm HKS gasket

the buttom is finished

Image

as written in a other thread i had to grind a little bit to get enough space for the blacktop oil pump

Hi,

lets have a look how much i can do this week, everytime that little problems like the correct key for the arp studs and i foudn a little space problem by the injector connectors and the rail so i have to grind a little bit

a intercooler is also on the way to me to solve the biggest question, what type of valvecover fit well......

but time heals every wounds :)
