Kris,

If your having difficulty buying from the US, let me know I can probably help - will ask Rob - who you met briefly to get it for you then he can send it to me, as long as its not £££ then I don't mind paying for it until it arrives.

Cheers,

Mike

JP - that flange is the one I have and it's pretty useless imho. To get to a decent fitting you need about 5 other fittings!

This is much more like the flange, note they come in 2 sizes...

Linky

Mike - thanks for the offer, will bear it in mind :)

Kris,

What is the thread on the flange you already have? I would have thought you should be able to 'simply' use a male/male adapter to get a nice JIC -10 male thread to which you can just fit a Aeroquip fitting?

From memory the thread is 1/2" tapered BSP, the tapered bit being where some of the problem lies...

I think I would either buy a bsp/jic adapter to see how it fits if its good then problem solved. Otherwise I would buy a bspt/bsp adapter, this gives you a male bsp fitting to which you can have a swaged line made up. Thinkauto have all the stuff to do that. You won't have a nice shiney aeroquip fitting but its probably not seen anyway.

Cheers :)

Have a small progress update, have managed to pretty much finish the pipe work for the turbo, just the electrics to do now...

Sourced 2 different flanges from http://www.atpturbo.com. Correct sized flange, (ATP-FLA-019), for the turbo and the larger flange, (ATP-FLA-024), for the oil drain into the sump. The flange bolt hole spacing for the sump is just a little too big, but converting the hole to a slot fitment is ok :)

The approx dimensions of the sump drain bolts

The larger flange bolt pattern is only just too small. A little filing sorted this out.
Image

Sourcing a -10AN braided oil line with a -10AN 90 and 60 degree Aeroquip fittings ensures the oil drain fits adequately and is pretty robust - thanks to http://www.thinkauto.co.uk
Image

The spacing between the drain and hot exhaust is also the best that can be achieved I think
Image

The water lines were a particular problem. The fittings were sourced courtesy of http://www.ebay.com. These fitted the turbo no problem, but as the compressor housing is quite large they didn't clear adequately. To solve this a 25mm section/coupler was brazed into the pipe to get the required clearance. Note the oil feed to the turbo has to fit in amoungst all this lot!
Image

The turbo water pipe fittings are 12mm diameter and the the existing water feed points from the engine are 10mm diameter. Again thanks to http://www.ebay.com a couple of 12mm/10mm reducers solved this problem
Image

I can't say I'm 100% with the bodgy look of the water feed but I don't feel the added expense and hassle of replacing the stock turbo water feed lines with 12mm feeds was justified...maybe I'll just hide them from view :)

Looks really nice kris the space between the oil line and the exhaust looks plenty. I think hiding the water lines somehow would ne the best solution maybe get some firesleeving to cover them or just stick something ontop of them. Only other thing could be a reducer in sambo which might be possible.

PMSL

Seriously tho, I was thinking the same. Alternatively there are a number of sleeving options you could use. Good to see it all coming together Kris :D

Hi Dennis... the pipe to the slave cylinder isn't a problem... however... the slave cylinder bleed nipple needs to be reduced in length

Okey ! is it just one of the pipes you make shorter or both ? do you made new ones ?
Have you maybe a picture of it ?
Sorry for bother you for such small things !
But it irritates me that nothing fits 100%
Two flanges but non of them is bolt on.
Seen som ATS flanges wich is much better but the cust 175 dollars

Dennis - no pipes for the clutch system have been altered :)

Exhaust pipe - custom
Water pipes - custom
Oil pipes - custom
Clutch pipes - standard

For the clutch master cylinder, fit a smaller length bleed nipple.

Does that help? lol... probably not! :P
