Hi all,

Yesterday we installed my new engine and now it's time to refill all fluids.

Is it enough to just fill the gearbox on the front at the refill plug or do i need to fill the transfer separatly?

I'm asking because when we pulled the old engine, and we took off the propeller shaft, oil poured out of the transfer extensionhousing.

thanks,

:)

you only need to fill from 1 point and it will slosh about into the gearbox & transfer case.

If draining you need to remove two drain plugs, one on the gearbox and one on the transfer case to get all teh oil out.

Good luck

Did mine last week and only managed to get 4L in before it came out the filler hole. Manual states 5.2L but I don't think the cooler/pipework can hold 1.2L? Anyone?

Think it was 24, but I'm not sure. It's the top left one in a socket kit that's not mine..

I doubt you will get everything out of the gearbox, so the figures quoted might be a little high.

Please note that the car should be level when you refill the gearbox...

Indeed Kris. Mine was level - on a 2 post lift, as I don't know exactly how my coilovers changed the engine angle (can't be much, but I had the lift anyway).
