Swedish - as you are running external gate I would probably go for the 0.63 A/R turbine - BUT with large compressor wheel on small turbine you may experience surge with the smaller housing - good boost control would allow you to get around this.

Good job from ATS.

I have the KO kit, and my engine is just waiting to go back in with all supporting mods. Only thing I don't have is gears and cams. Maybe I will install them later. I haven't driven my car since july 2008 and can't wait to experiance the GT3071R.

AFR looks pretty damn good on that graph = very well/properly tuned/mapped.

KO Kit - is that the street brawler one?

Street Brawer is Garrett T3 46 trim or T3 50 trim Nigel. (floating bearing)

Pinjos kit is a Garrett GT3071R (ball bearing)- and a quite nice one too :-)

Pinjo - your oil return line - is there room to run it round teh downpipe & dump pipe?

This is also a Street Brawler kit, only with a GT3071R. There are plenty of turbo's for the Street Brawler kits, from the SB46(T3/T4) to the GT35BIG.

Yes there is. It doen't touch the engine or DP.

Let's hope we get some nice numbers. :D

Nice driveable torque curve although I suspect there is much more to come with this GT3071R installation.

Yes at only 17psi - needs more :-) and once on Uk fuel there is plenty more to come. BUT as a turbo to stick on a standard bottom end at 17psi it has produced some good results :-)

Hi,

Diceman, is your target in the near of 400HP?

if yes i know a interessting turbo

http://www.tomeipowered-usa.com/usa/arm ... /m7960.htm

the compressor direction is good if you use a FMIC the great problem i think is a adakter from toyota to MHI twin-scroll flange, the splitter of the twin-scroll design is under hard stress and can failure, inconel could be the answer

mixer72, this turbo is a good option and in comination with the OEM water-to-air intercooler is it possible that you have less lag then a EVO with his FMIC, but the direction of the compressor is a problem with the OEM intercooler, possible that the compressor is turnable but that means you need a custom bracket for the actuator

crazy things are going on in my brain but nobody should say "it is not possible"

You must decide how much boost you want to run, what mods you need/want and then pick a turbo for your goals.

@Sunny,

Unless you have acces to a C&C machine to make your own adapter, I would leave the MHI turbo's for the DSM'ers. The turbo's are pretty good and strong, but strange footprints especialy the newer ones.

Looking at the graph from ATS, you can reach 400BHP with 1.2 bar on your setup and a GT3071R. You will have room to grow. :D

I have no real power targets TBH. I will be restricted by the amount of boost I run as still have a standard bottom end. My aim to to A) Have some fun and B) try and get a wide power band.

You have to remember that in the USA their wheel horsepower seems to correspond to our flywheel horsepower less 5-10%. close to anyway.

If I get anywhere over 300bhp it will do the job for me and hopefully be relatively understressed.
