My OEM ST165 radiator with crappy plastic tanks has begun to leak.
Mending it didn't work, so I've got a tentative agreement with ASI Performance to have some ST165 aluminum radiators custom made.
Follow the link below for details. If you've tried ASI Radiators, post up your opinions:

There was never mahy 165s here, and with the dreaded rust there are even less left now!

Of the ones left from guys who are on forums they tend not to run a 165 engine any more...

I see, that explains the lack of interest, thanks.
At least you can console yourself with the 205, wish we had them over here :(

The 205 is a great bit of kit but the 165 was the Original GT-Four! :D

Looking forward to hearing how this turns out Rick.

Would be good to hear part numbers, cost etc etc for other 165 Owners :)

It's done and it fits!
See link above for full thread.

[size=150:*bleep*]UPDATE ON TEST-FIT:[/size:*bleep*]
I am pleased to say that the second prototype fits almost perfectly :D
All the painstaking measuring, reverse-engineering and double-checking paid off.

Only one thing wrong:
The bottom hole to mount the fan shroud doesn't line up right. It needs to be 4mm closer to the pax side. I used a Dremel tool to enlarge the fan shroud holes into ovals. That gave me enough lateral slack to make it fit.

I will contact ASI to give them the green light and finish up with any other remaining details. It's been a long haul, but it appears we have an aluminum radiator option to the OEM plastic end tanks. Thanks for hanging in there with me guys. I'm hoping it won't be too much longer before the first run is completed. In the meantime, here are the pics:

[img:*bleep*]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Rick88AllTrac/7.jpg[/img:*bleep*]
^That aluminum core is 42mm thick, stock OEM is 32mm; it's tight, but we still have enough clearance.

[img:*bleep*]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Rick88AllTrac/3.jpg[/img:*bleep*]
^Underside shot of the fan and drain plug. No drain tube like on the OEM rad but I may try to fit a spigot in there. The bottom mounting post is clearly visible inside the rubber grommet-cushion thingy.

[img:*bleep*]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Rick88AllTrac/8.jpg[/img:*bleep*]
^Underside shot of coolant temperature sensor and lower rad hose.

[img:*bleep*]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Rick88AllTrac/9.jpg[/img:*bleep*]
^Here you can just see where the bottom fan shroud hole doesn't quite line up properly. Other than that, it's a good fit and decent welds. :)

The trouble over here is that the 165 is an old car and we're not blessed with the weather you get

Most examples have corroded away by now :(

A shame because I'd really like a good example having driven a 162 for a few years

I'll post it up on the OC to see if there's any interest from there

two_OH_five:
Pity that they're all corroded away over there.
Thanks for posting it on the OC - er, what is the OC anyways? :)

Jingo11:
If we get 20 ppl to commit to buying, it'll be
USD$330 shipped to UK.

If less than 20 ppl, price is USD$345 shipped to UK.

*crickets chirping*

Wow, real quiet on this thread. I guess Steve is the only one in the UK to buy one. Oh well, if anyone needs an aluminum radiator for the ST165, you know where to find them now.

Cheers
