Hmm,
I am intrigued as to how well the black satin sticks. I have a tub of it and a modellers spray set.

IIRc tehy suggest shot blasting the surface with a particular grade of shot and secondly to apply very very thinly.

How hot did you heat it up to? I thought about about bunging it on my BBQ and closing the lid :-)

did a bit today on the turbo head shield, pained it all up with 650c white paint then baked it to harden the pain as it only set rely hard at 2550c

heat shield in the oven :) don’t tell the wife lol
Image
Image
bing when the timer and all cooked
Image

then covered the inside of the shield with a 1250c lagging to help keep the heat down in the engine bay and help keep the heat in the turbo to quicker spool
this is the 1250c lagging wrap I have
Image

cut lagging to shape
Image

then stick in place with 1250c glue
Image

be for gluing in place
Image

after
Image

I then applied a second sheet and this it is finished ready to fit on the turbo and manifold
