hi,

anyone know what the rough guide is for max power from stock internals on the st 185 engine.

i want to up it a bit but don't wanna have to pull over and pick bits up off the road.

i currently have to fit...

a 1.2 mm head gasket
a 3" Downpipe
a 4 branch
a boost control valve ( plan to up boost to 14psi)
an induction kit
colder plugs
straight through exhaust

fensports site quotes this minus the manifold as about a 50 bhp gain.

i have Nitrous capability but that might just be too much at the moment.

i need a radiator and a front mount as well to get the old girl back on the streets ...

what do you lot think?

Running 300hp/tq "appears" to be achievable.

To get this reliably I would think you require a replacement intercooler, larger injectors and a replacement "brain" :D

Personally I wouldn't run NOS before adding some balance and strength to the engine unless you plan using to cool the charge. I've heard of 350bhp running stock internals but non of them seem to last very long before the 2nd stronger engine is needed :)

Cheers,

Tone

205 charge cooler will see you past 300bhp :) I'll let you know how its done when I finally get around to fitting mine :D

I intend to drop in a front mount due to clearance issues with the new Manifold plus the standard one is a bit pants imo.

as for the nitrous if i add it it might not be until later but it may only be a very small amount as a lag control which will switch off when boost hits 5 or 6 psi.

i'm not looking for more than 300 - 350 tops at the moment on a daily driver.
