I've been having fun today :D

For my birthday last year my brother and a couple of mates clubbed together to buy me a "Mini Adventure" (one of those red letter day style things)

Since it was due to expire in March I finally got around to booking it and did it today. So off to Goodwood cotor circuit I went.

It lasted about 3 hours and consisted of some GoKarting, some skidpan driving in an old Mini (alot of fun since I've never had a car I could rip the handbrake in) And then I was expecting four laps of the track in a new Mini One. I say expecting because when I got there it turned out to be a new Mini Cooper S!! :D:D:D And it has given me a taste for ttrack driving in a big way too. Roll on the new year when I may have enough cash to endulge myself :)

Here are some pics of me having a thoroughly enjoyable day in the first real sunshine of the year. 8)

Then did some of this (I never fit in those karts properly )

Then discovered what the original Mini was really always meant to do :)

LOL, looks like you had a cracking good day out!

That mini in the first picture looks mighty small for you! How did you get on with the older style ones which were snaller still?!?

Some people are like a Slinky .. Not really good for anything, but they make you smile when you shove them down the stairs!

The biggest size problem I had was getting a helmet to fit my oversized head!

I have to say that, having not been a fan at all, I was mighty impressed with the new Mini. It has more legroom than the ST205 for starters. It also has a shocking amount of grip and is very well balanced :D

Four decent size adults fitted pretty convincingly. Only problem was I kept twatting my head on the window frame

The old Mini was fine but I've driven them before so I knew what to expect a little more. And I didn't need a helmet then so I wasn't quite so tall.

As always I didn't do too well in the karting because I weigh about twice what the other racers did, but I still had a blast. Especially when they started putting water on the corners to mess with us

Looks like you had a blast :) - was the track very busy? Or was it just the cars in the photo's out there?

The track was fairly quiet. I counted 2 Minis, 1 Lambo, 3 Ferraris, 1 Alpha, one Aston DB5 and one E-type Jag.

The Minis were by far the quickest things on the track though. Apparently on the Ferrari driving days they weren't allowed to take them over 4krpm

Kinda defeats the purpose of being on a track really doesn't it!
