Since having replaced the lower arms and fig. 8's on my ST205 (as part of preventative maintenance of the major parts), I have the old items lying around. I am intending to sell them on, but before I do is there any way to assess their overall condition while they are off the car? Do they have any value for refurb? I'd rather give accurate descriptions if selling them on here or eBay. They make great paper-weights, but I'd rather sell them!

Apart from the condition of the rubber seals nothing is really visible unless the bearing is fubar'd big time. I know that sometimes even when the fig 8's are knocking it's very difficult to detect the movement with the vehicle on the ramp. If I were you I'd give them a quick clean, take some pics and mention in your ad they were replaced only as preventative maintenance and would be a cheap way of getting a car mobile and through an MOT.

Cheers, that sounds sensible to me.

Also have value for people who are buying the refurbished ones which are only available on exchange.

I was thinking about that too, and also the companies that do the refurb work themselves.
