I love the look of the Aston as it looks more like a road car, and not just a track beast :-)

Found lurking behind the bike sheds

Along with its older brother

The drivers probably get bored of the scenery but as I've only seen it handful of times I don't
Taken from under Dunlop Bridge heading towards Tertre Rouge

Were those historic toyotas on some sort of stand. Would have loved to see them in the flesh. Looks like I missed a cracking Le Mans this year.

They were squirreled away on a stand behind the Toyota corporate tent - opposite the gigantovision screen in Maison Blanche.
Not somewhere Joe public would normally be headed for but its next door to the new free ACO member trackside facility

This year the ACO upped their game for members. The behind the scenes scrutineering tour was interesting and I expect the paddock tour (during the race) would have been an eye opener if we had remembered it.

Personally it was the best trip I've had. Great weather allowed visits to all of the track so during the race I was everywhere from Tertre Rouge to Mulsanne Corner.

Agree with Steve, best LM24 for years. The breaking news is that most if not all of the Maison Blanche camp site will be used to build a Porsche driving centre. I guess this will be something similar to the Porsche centre outside Hangar straight at Silverstone. Makes sense with Porsche returning to top flight endurance racing. With Ferrari almost certain to return and Nissan back next year in LMP1. Honda are also working on a prototype. We could be in for a new golden age of sportscar racing set to eclipse Formula 1. Just hope they don't frighten off the privateers with a technical and financial arms race.

Over on Pistonheads the Maison Blanche Porsche facility is being debated. There is a British chap who lives in Le Mans who posts regularly who has stated categorically that the Porsche centre is being built on the infield so should not effect Maison Blanche campsite.

That is 2nd hand information obviously.

Agree on all the other stuff!

Hmm, who would I rather have on my campsite

Porsche club Europe patrons prepared to pay premium glamping rates with the more well heeled occupying the 919 popup hotel
Or
A bunch of halfwitted morons hellbent on petty theft, bin burning and general destruction

I have to say the choice seems pretty obvious

Whatever happens a new era beckons. After my first visit in 1985 and then 11 consecutive years from 2004 to 2014 change would be refreshing.

A couple of gratuitous photos of the 1985 winner I've found on line. I was hit by bad hay fever so not sure I managed to take any pics or if I did then they've been mislaid in my 'filing system' of old style negatives and slides

Inevitably its a Porsche 956. Health and Safety hadn't been invented back then gauging by the spectators leaning over the fence!
