The lead article in last weeks Autosport National Racing section concerned the debut of a MkIV Toyota Supra in the British GT Champioship for next year. Apparently everyone used to think it was ineligible as it didn't have FIA papers and they thought turbo cars weren't allowed either!

There's no mention of which engine it will run but if the regs allow it I'd have thought that it would make sense to run a 3S-GTE in a similar configuration to the Castrol Supra demo'd at Goodwood FOS this year. The 2JZ-GTE would be a big heavy lump of iron to pedal around some of the tight UK circuits.

Apparently they are thinking of running in the GT3 category which has a top limit of 0.24bhp/kg. Given that the GT-Four is generally regarded to be a better handling car than the Supra it makes me wonder how competitive the Four would be? Perhaps the 4WD would make it ineligible?

Hmm, sounds interesting. I will see if I can get some info as a Friend is helping run the Mosler GT team.

The Lambo Murcialago (or something like that LOL) has been converted to RWD only to compete
