:( Some of you will know the story of keith 911 and the sad end of his 205 wrc :(, well it seems not content with killing a ST205 he now has managed to send my old rc the same way . In almost mirror like circumstances the car has suffered terminal front end damage and is no more a roadworthy four..
Omg !
Keith has escaped relatively lightly in suffering just bruising to his chest with a coming together with the steering wheel.. thankfully.

Plod was involved initiallyat the scene as you would expect in an rta, however no further action to be taken . Just now battling with the ins co for a reasonable settlement..yet again.
I somehow dont think keith will be in a four again

Sorry to hear this Clive. I have seen a pic of the damage but how bad is it? If the engine, inner wings and bumper support/chassis rails are ok it may be worth considering putting back on the road.

CS bumper £200
CS bonnet £300
Headlights & other minor panels £200
Paint £300-400

I do have a fair few RC bits spare (rad, CC rad, bonnet) and IIRC Gary has a white CS that is rather poorly also.

Glad keith is OK

I take it you haven't caught up with him yet :-)

 Hard to tell just how bad it is until you start stripping off the debris and get down to the bones. We'll see what the ins co have to say ?

Steve your sense of humour is priceless..

I am afraid that looks terminal Clive.

To have buckled wing/door that far back is not good at all IMHO.

That must have been a rather hard hit to do that much damage - those 185s are bloody strong don't normally bend.

If you gave that to the WRC/BTCC pit crews they would have it back on the track in under an hour!

Those eyes look so sad :(

Agree with JP, I suspect inner wing / chassis damage. May be jig-able but I suspect it's a case of getting a front end from a car with rear end damage.

Really sad to read this post but as before glad Keiths OK the most important...

BUT.. car looks a bit of gonna, and would a shame to loose an RC with all that known history.

Just an off thought !! what ever happened to that red CS that JP viewed recently and posted going for around £750.. For sure between the 2 of them one really good RC/CS hybrid could be built, and with a suitable spares stock to take with it ?

Cheers Nigel C..

Rebuild nearing completion (not Batmobile) thats just perfect.... loved the snowy stuff..JUST ME

that wing damage lookss door inflicted (front of door folded out, wing folded in) but obvoiusly the wing was out of place to cause it so chassis damage is possible but looking at the other shots I suspect the legs are OK

You may have a point there Nigel C.
Probably cheapest way to get 1 usable car out of either of them.

The only concern is that it is a lot of work and not cheap to end up with a car that is still classed as a wriet off when you can get a CS "accident repaired" on ebay for £1300 ish.

What this car really needs is someone looking at building a track car with a 1 piece GRP front end :-)

Emicen....??

Yeah i thought the wing/door combo wasnt a good sign :( , but my experience with damaged repairables is zilch. So far the ins co's first offer of £1500 has been declined and awaiting further correspondence, if it turns out we can buy back at a reasonable figure then its breaking time. Keith cant be doing with repairing and all the time/cost involved therein if it is even do'able ?
As its been pointed out, it was indeed a quite heavy impact..straight into a stationary vehicle, keith doesnt do moving targets

re: market value
let keiths insurance know it will cost ITRO £5000+ to import a replacement: http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/ja ... a/6077138/
