Glad the Recaro's passed your road test and you are happy with them. The snug fit on your posterior may be a bit more of an issue if you indulge in a big Christmas dinner! Your latest video log also does shed a bit more light on your thinking regarding the suspension. I was wondering why you wanted to change it. Lowering the car will theoretically help with the ultimate roadholding but on a road car this is normally at the expense of the handling.
At a more basic level, when I fitted the circuit spec TRD coilovers sourced from Japan via TTE in Cologne I found there was hardly any free travel left above the rubber bump stop. It was something like 15mm! In retrospect I should have measured the strut length against the OEM strut. I'm sure the full extended length must have been shorter. Raising the spring platforms only increased the pre-load. The damping rate was totally unsuited to the roads in the UK although it was probably ideal for a smooth circuit (as the product description would suggest!) I quickly removed them and sold them on replacing them with four point adjustable KYB dampers and TRD lowering springs.
The other issue you can encounter if you lower a car is affect the steering geometry. We had to raise the steering rack on my Lotus Elise when we lowered it to 100mm ride height for circuit driving. With my ST205 track project we have deliberately not lowered it too much so we avoid these problems. Careful specification of Ohlins dampers, selection of appropriate springs, adjustable heavy duty ARB's and fitting adjustable track control arms should mean we get a car that's going to handle on track without having to re-engineer the suspension pick-up points. Some WRC rally cars like the Subaru Impreza 22B feature a selection of pick-up points on the subframes. It would have been nice to build something like that but I decided against it for the time being. Always wary of moving the goalposts, scope creep and budget blowouts
In your case if you want to lower the car but retain the suspension travel then I guess you could modify the suspension turrets. I think I've seen this on some rally cars but I'd check the effect of your proposed changes on suspension geometry before making any changes.
