Ooh, old thread, with an unanswred question :o

sikx5 > I had the splitters made up by a fibre glass firm near me, then had a batc done which have now all sold. Plan is to do an updated version as a whole front splitter, would hope to have that sorted in the autumn :)

Now the motor has a new interior and new wheels, might aswell pop up some more pics ;)

Wow - That is one nice looking beast mate!

Whats the size/offset on those Volk TE-37's mate? Are you running spacers in the rear? they fill the guards very nice, did you have to roll the guards?

Nice wheels Karl.

Are they 17" Rimstock ones?

Evening Steve :)

They are 17" Team Dynamics Pro Race One http://www.teamdynamicsracing.com/pro-r ... 1black.htm

I bought them because when I got the car it looked like this
Image
and the steel wheels that were on it were a variety of 15" and 16" :!: I wanted discreet and relatively lightweight, so the PR1's seemed to fit the bill.

I personally like alloys that don't stand out too much; I reckon it is too easy to make an old car look redneck with a bad choice of alloys, though saying that I have only seen one 165 that I thought "ouch...those alloys suck"

Have you got some alloy plans for your beastie, or are you sticking to less costly forms of weightsaving at the moment :?:

I find it impossible to get a decent picture of both the car and the wheels together; perhaps a white car and dull black alloys aren't a good combo for a small camera :?:

No further plans just yet....although I have ideas for the future. Maintenance is my No.1 goal at the moment with some big jobs coming up next week.
I have bought an aftermarket steering wheel now....thats saved a few grams from the stock one.
I would love some 17" Compomotive 5 spokes in white. 8)
I like your wheels because they are discreet, kind of like a street sleeper car.

I was going to say that IMO white alloys would look the dogs on your car, but thought I would hold my tongue and let you make your own mind up lol. Black/white cars look best with either black or white alloys...a classic combo in my eyes.

Good luck with the maintenance work; it will all pay off in the future. Since I got my car I have spent the vast majority of the money on maintenace and replacement of boring but essential parts for the safety and reliability of the car. All done now with the exception of wheel bearings. That is a job for the end of the summer.

Ever since I got the car I have been unable to go from 1st to 2nd without letting the revs drop right down and a real  crunch...knacked syncro I think. The car is going to Ians next week for a 205 box and his clutch/flywheel combo (though he cannee fit the fly to the 165)...how much am I looking forward to having a box that works :D

Sorry, rambling now and off topic...so excited. Child

Ditto mate,
I'm off to Smithy's tomorrow BH Monday to drop off the car to him so he can have it for Tuesday. Then I'm collecting Saturday 3rd June.
Having a 205 Clutch fitted, 2nd hand manifold with new gaskets, new rocker cover gasket and a fuel filter.
