A little story you might find interesting, couple of weekends ago I came across something I would not of believed unless I saw it with my own eyes, a 1.7 diesel Astra van! So what I hear you say nothing unusual about that? It is when it is doing 145mph and still pulling! My first inclination something wasn’t normal was when I looked in my mirror and thinking he is not going backwards as fast as he should. Anyway I was able to loss him through the bends and had the punch out no problem but then I got caught up with a bit of slower traffic and he got the better of me, I tucked in behind him on the next straight and was amazed when we both hit 145 and still pulling before we had to hit the brakes. I think the 17D on the tailgate might have been a bit of a lie lol. To look at the van was standard looking except for a set of ally wheels, even the colour was a dull blue. I don’t know much about Vauxhalls or Astras but I guess there is a big turbo charged engine that will fit? Just wondered if anyone else has come across anything like this, something that shouldn’t go fast but does! Cheers Dorris

Dorris,

I have never heard of this before, and to be honest wonder at what people spend their money on!

But perhaps it is the look on peoples faces that is the reward for modding something like the astra van . . . I know that was certainly one of the fun factors of the old 165. :)

Some people are like a Slinky .. Not really good for anything, but they make you smile when you shove them down the stairs!

Ah the sleeper

This is my current favourite. An old nail looking Granada. Runs 10 second 1/4s with the help of a LS1

This one also tends to leave me sitting cross legged too

A shameless bump of the sleeper thread

Some of you were subjected to the Royal Nail ramble recently
Without further ado.....
THE ROYAL NAIL

And a little bonus - again I've bored a few of you with my drooling over it lol
