coming out of the local tower carpark i have cracked and split my sideskirt, i am not happy, i hate speed bumps, never usually have any problems, went over it at about 2 mph and heard it scrape and crack at the back, gutted is the word. :(

how much do we think it will be to fix the prblem, it is only cracked about 2 inched and has the smallest of holes, about 3mm by 1/2 inch. should be able to just put filler in and respray i would imagine would you all think?

i cant beleive it, i HATE DAMN SPEED BUMPS!!!

here is the damage, its blurred but you can get the just of it, im gonna see my bodyshop man tomorow, see if he can/ will fix it, if he wont then im afraid that i will be doing it myself, should be easy enough, some body filler in the hole, its just the crack that i dont know how to fix. :(

Dale,

Sorry to hear of your missfortune.

Not too sure about how to fix, but get some measurements of the speed hump and then check it out against the 'standards'

I found this info on speed humps

The maximum legal height of a speed hump is 100mm, but the Department for Transport say:

"To limit the possibility of grounding, investigations suggest that road humps generally should not exceed 75mm in height."

Go back & check the height, if it's more than 100mm then you may be able to claim against the local council for damages to your car.
It's worth a try

DforT link if required :) http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/d ... 04796.hcsp

PS - I have amended the topic of this post slightly for you

Think the short answer is they are no longer available,
come up secondand from time to time, which was how I got my TRD kit, and that was bought as cracked.
I have never ending problems with my C-one front lip
spoiler living in the big smoke. Just has to look at hump or a steep camber and it scratches or splits. Good news is they can usually be fixed filled rubbed down re-profiled and re-sprayed, most good bodyshops can deal .

Oh the joys of 4 ownership.

Cheers Nigel C

but im hoping that the bodyshop will be able to do it, how much would it cost for some place to do a mould do we think?

Good news that they can be fixed :)

I seem to remember that Stew Booton was selling moulded TRD side skirts and spats on ebay not so long ago. . . . If you want the details I can look to see if I can find his auctions?
