Just giving this a quick bump.

So far myself & Lewis are definate, plus a few possibles but I'm guessing won't be certain until we count heads on the boat

Currently looking at using the sea cat from Poole to St. Malo (about 5hrs with the stops at Jersey/Guernsey) and travelling down Thursday and back Tuesday. Not set in stone though.

I need to sort out water on the first floor yet but we have rooms all done and two top floor ones with hot and cold water. we're getting there, slowly.

Be nice to see you. We might be going with a friend or two from over here too.

At the moment it's just myself & lewis, but we may get a last minute entry from Daryl when we see him this evening.

Current plans are to travel down next Thursday & go back the following Tuesday, provided you can stand us for that long  . Looking at doing the sea cat from Poole to St Malo so it's only 450Km through France.

We should be finalising plans this evening.

Scrub St Malo. Stops at both channel islands on the way down so 8:30 start for 5PM arrive, no return ferry Tues or Weds. evening.

Poole Cherbourg, depart 07:00 arrive 10:30 (Frog time) Much more like it.

Still No evening return it seems but can come back Tues or Weds morning so stay locally.

Extends the drive in France to 600Km / 6 1/2 hrs.

Can't get much in the line of decent Cider here. If you could "export" us some extra mature cheddar we would be very grateful and will reimburse you.

Well, it's all conspiring against me at the moment.

Daryl is a definate no. Lewis has a large job on and thinks he is unlikely to be able to get away. He will confirm one way or other early next week.

My only running gt4 has started making a rather nasty sounding knock, intermittant so may not be serious, but will need diagnosing before I think of taking it abroad.
My Clio has a very noisy wheelbearing which would need doing before I take it abroad.
Plus, after a very bad year moneywise, it's difficult to justify the ferry & fuel costs if not shared between 2.

On the other hand, I would love to catch up with an old friend, and really want a break from this country soon.

Are there any other events coming up in the next few weeks that would give an excuse for a trip ?

I will try & look at the cars this weekend and see if I can muster one capable of doing a journey length I'd normally do twice a week without thinking about it.

Not much happening here after this event.

Flights from Bristol to Bergerac are about £92 return at the moment. I could collect you from the air port if you wanted. 13th or 15th to 17th

Well, Clio is done & ran fine going home last night although the ABS light has come on. Is diesel still much cheaper in France ?

Not a huge fan of flying since 911, and particularly after the London bombings which I only missed by a couple of hours. I have flown since but only out of neccesity.

Just had a look through the entry list you emailed and there's some awesome cars. I'm certainly leaning towards going anyway and stuff the overdraft.

Which days are you planning on going to watch, and which days are going to fit in with you folks for me (maybe us) to come & stay as I don't want to outstay my welcome. My original plan was to do a few days touring afterwards anyway before coming back over Tuesdayish.

We were planning on going Sunday. We might have a bit of a problem now though. My sister might be coming over next weekend, it's bloody short notice but the only time she has had chance all year to come. I will know more later today, I hope.

I only spoke to her this lunch time when she dropped the bombshell. She did say she'd let me know in a bit, but then again, this is my sister. She's a pain some times.
