After a cold, dark and blustery evening at the final round, the championship came to a close.
I didn't do as well as expected with a 7th in class and 11th overall.
However, it was just enough to achieve my personal goal of a top ten finish in the championship, finally finishing 9th overall. :D

Full details on the series and results can be found at the following sites:

Oh yes....and one of the sponsors of the series (and a club I belong to) the GT4 Owners Club donated 2 trophies for their championship competitors.
One trophy went to the top GT4OC competitor (a very well deserved Otis Hayes).
The other to the GT4OC competitor who was considered to be the most improved and committed driver for the overall series - the Hard Charger 2009...which was me :D

This was my first venture into motorsport which turned out to be a steep learning curve but absolutely great fun.
Everyone was really helpful and friendly.
It was superbly and professionally organised.

Can't wait until next year

Congratulations on a well deserved award Nigel!

The improvement in results has been quite notable over the season.

The trophy looks a yellowey bronze hue and appears to be the shape of protective headgear. It would seem you've joined the hallowed ranks of the Golden Helmet crew

Top effort Nigel on your debut season. Look forward to seeing how your car does on the rollers. It certainly felt very quick when I drove it at Barkston but the pedaler also seems to have a bit of pace ;)..Onward and Upward m8

Good result, especially for a debut season.

Well done Nigel, fantastic achievement for the first year. Just glad that all your hard work & commitment has paid off. I know at times it has been a bit of a mission to get everything sorted.
It has raised the bar for your track car build though :-)
Now get polishing your helmet sir :-)
