Just a quickie. Some of you know I've got a second hand inlet manifold which I had polished up to go on Rufus when the new head goes on. Now I've just had a thought which might be problematic - when I purchased off off an OC member, I don't recall it being specified as a CS/RC manifold, just a standard 185 one, which makes me think it's not going to be big enough for my throttle body and be restrictive.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case, I'm sure the RC has a larger bore, and if so is it possible to 'open up' the standard one to fit. If not, I'll have to get an RC one and get that polished up instead :?

Mook,
I know the throttle body and throttle body rubber are larger but the mounting bolts are teh same on both manifolds frop CS/Rc and Stock St185. I woudl therefore summise that the inlet manifold is infact likely to be possibly the same.

Hmmm, that would be ideal in terms of fitting this one. On the other hand, why have a larger throttle body if it's going into the same size manifold?

I also thought that the manifolds were the same, a quick check of the EPC should tell if there are two different parts. I would check but my ST185 disc is not working.

I had to give Ian a ring for something else and he checked the EPC for me - as you reckoned it is indeed the same inlet manifold for all 185s, only the throttle body and rubber are larger for the CS/RC.

On the plus side, means I'm ready to roll with my polished one :)

Wonder why they didn't use a larger size for the entry from the CS/RC throttle body then? Can only imagine the possibility of a ram effect increasing torque a little :?

Mook - how does the throttle body look on the manifold? Is the manifold entry smaller than the exit of the throttle body?

Can you measure the dimensions of the CS TB please? This would clear up another one of those "arguments" regarding their sizing :)

I'll have a look when I get mine off the car. This one I have that has been polished looks like it's been 'widened' anyway, it's just over 56mm diameter.
