Bulbs arrived, and I must say, very impressed!

I have always associated heft with quality, I know this is a rubbish assumption, but, there you go. As you can see, the LED bulb is very solid, with the main body being an all metal construction as opposed to a standard PIAA filament bulb. There is an inherent weakness in the LED though in that it has a built in 'fan cooler'. This is similar to the fan found on PC desktops & laptops. However, in 25 years of using these, I've only ever had one fan failure and that was in a PC that ran 24/7 for over 8 years, so I guess it should be reliable enough.

It's very hard to get a comparison photo due to the limitations of not only my own skills, but my 'compact camera'! However, I have tried my best, you’ll mainly see a colour change rather than any extra ‘strength’...
comparison LED/filament
I use to run an HID conversion, and one clear advantage of LED is that it's instant, rather than the 5 to 10 second warm up of HID. The brightness is superb, and so much better that the standard Victorian filament bulbs! I'm just curious if they are an MOT failure (like HID bulbs - unless you have a headlamp washer system), or would they pass without comment.
For £20 odd, it's an upgrade I wouldn't think twice on...
