driving my st185 gt4 today and reaching 3k approx just as boost was charging up it cut out does this in every gear am i right in thinking this is the fuel cut defender and if so whats the best way to get round it |

How do you mean it just cuts out? Does it jolt like ur hitting a wall? |

yes engine managment light comes on then goes off |

It does sound like fuel cut do you have a aftermarket boost gauge or boost controller on the car? |

Do an error code check to confirm what the fault is. On a 185, once boost cut has happened you need to reset the ECU otherwise it runs a safe mode and boost cut triggers at a much lower level. On a 205, boost cut automatically resets and normal operation re-commences after a few seconds. could also be knock sensor fault, this triggers at 3K RPM but just retards ignition and limits boost doesn't cut completely. |
