Had a strange kind of scraping noise from rear today while moving. Its not all the time just now and again and I've only noticed it while on straights. I do belive the wheel bearing is due a change, does this sound like this? If so where do I get one and is it easy enough to do myself?

You will need a hyraulic press almost certainly to change the wheel bearing.

Not generally something most people do themselves.

Wheel bearings normally make more noise when cornering and a whine or clicking.
If it's a metalic sounding scraping it's most likely the s**t shields behind the disk, these are very flimsy and rust through until they have the strength of ali foil.

Ok, i'll get under and have a good look. Any ideas to how much bearings cost and where to source some anyway?

Is that individual, or pair? I've never changed or had to.change wheel bearing so this is new to me.

Unless you have the right equipment changing wheel bearings is not really a DIY job. I purchased the Blueprint bearings and then got Ian Smith at T,R &D Nottingham to do it for me as he knows GT-Fours inside out. It did take him a full day to replace two bearings due to old stubborn rusty seized nuts :( Any competent garage should be able to do the work.

Ok, I have a reasonable garage here to do it. Fensport do bearings, are they any good? £40

Just a local one called bascams. I only found out recently that my mate works there and they are building a mitsubishi starion with the twin turbo v6 out the 3000gt. There is also a turbo specialist, and body work guy right next door, so its the only place near me who knows how to deal with turbocharged cars.

took me about 2 hours to change the blue print bearings as mine was pressed out and in quite easily. However I spent more time drilling out the stupid screws for the dust guard and re-tapping a new thread.

I'm changing my wheel bearing, but am not sure if I need the kit for abs or without.
I have a 185. How can I tell other than driving over ice and stomping the brake?

Look in the engine bay. If on the lower left hand side there is a box with loads of pipes going in you have ABS.

You can just stomp on the brake anywhere it's safe.
