Does anyone else find that their power steering bottle is always covered in oil? I keep cleaning mine but I find that when cornering, oil leaks out when swivelled up to the lid and out the edge. Crap lid design? |

This is quite common, I don't know what the cause is, my car never seemed to suffer from it much. I remember I think it was Nigel had some sort of mini bandana tied round his to stop the fluid going everywhere. |

You can get wrist/sweat band like insulators for fluid reservoirs. If you go that route, make sure it's made out of fire retardant fabric instead of just using a nice looking Adidas item |

I've also done the same and fitted an ally P/S reservoir on my track toy |

There's a plastic mesh inside the bottle that gets clogged over time - think this is the root cause of the leaky bottles... |

Yes I did...well remembered Mike. However, as a better fix I cut a circular piece of cardboard out of a corn flake packet and placed it under the rubber seal. It gave a better seal to the cap and stopped the leaking. Of course I had to replace it after a while when the cardboard deteriorated. For my track build I have an ally power steering resevoir. |
