Post subject:  ST185/ST205 Gearbox Swap
Having eaten the gearbox on the car, im going to have to replace the box and clutch. As a newbie to the gt4 i believe the gearboxes from the 205 will fit the 185. Is it worth getting a 205 box, im aware that there are extra synros on the 205 box but is it an exact swap with the 185 box. Im just after a quick easy job and dont want hassle with a 205 box if it is going to be a pain. Also, am I right in thinking the clutches from the 2 cars are identical. Thanks for your patience guys

just been doing some searching and it seems they are completely interchangeable, as is the clutch.

Guess its a ST205 box then, wish me luck with the change! :shock:

The only slight difference afaik is with the speedo sensor, all st205s have an electronic sensor but some 185s have a mechanical one, I believe this is easily over come though.
