finally fixed my getting the water temp sensor started the car up for the first time in 6-8 months with fuel in it standing over this period car started bit of smoke told oil might be on the seals as it was black and not to worry just let it idle went back to the car to start it and let it idle however car wont start now could this be stagnant fuel or something i just havnt put me finger on have check for error codes and none showing im a little lost and in need of help

Do the usual checks - check for sparks? Does the exhaust smell of fuel ? Have a quick look at this thread, might be worth popping the lid off your ecu and see if the capacitor has gone as shown. http://gt4dc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5617 |

got everything only thing it might be is old fuel and low on fuel been told to try putting more in and see if it starts then |

Has it got an aftermarket alarm or immobiliser on it? |

Hey,a mate of mine had his motorbike off the road over the winter and when he came run it last month and wouldnt start.drained tank and refilled fuel, started 1st time.turns out nowadays fuel has a shelf life off 3-4 months before starting to degrade.seems weird to me but it changing the fuel worked, maybe worth a try.keep the fuel though and mix it in small quantities over time with good fuel!

right car still wont start smell of fuel allmost fires trys but wont run stuck now as ive changed everything on it |

Can you give us a list of everything you've changed? Looking back at the first post - when you changed the water temp sensor and then started the car did it actually start? You post seems to suggest that the car started and then didn't start the 2nd time? Is that correct? |

yer it started the first time with black smoke turned it off as wasnt sure what this was found out unburnt fuel tried starting again wouldnt start in total in the last 6 months it has had e.c.u change readed no faults a new fuel pressure regulator new afm and water temp sensor |

what about spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, coil, leads? Have you checked for spark? |

sorry all changed and had spark car tried to fire and was lumpy but then cut out |
