Maybe worth checking all the simple stuff first such as Ignition and Fuelling. Could be dodgy ignition if it has been sitting for a while but Ive got a bad feeling that it may be worth doing a compression test. Whats your water levels like, are they remaining steady? I had a similar problem with my MR2 turbo and it was head gasket.
Im sure yours will be something simple and not scary but head gasket is a possibility

Possibly the cold start injector is stuck open or the wiring isn't connected right.
I suspect the latter.
It's a bit long winded but you could try un plugging the cold start injector but this will mean stripping off the topmount then possibly the throttlebody as the injector is behind that and I don't think you can get to the connector
