Hi, can anyone shed some light as to where the A/C compressor clutch is situated on a St 205 . thanks |

i'm getting a ticking sound when car is idling, could it be the compressor clutch? |

Probably not, this is most likely the vent system for the fuel tank... blip the throttle and the "tick tick tick" will disappear ![]() |

The clutch went bad on my old 185 engine - sounded like a noisy bearing. The clutch is actually built into the pulley. You'll notice the centre of the pulley stays still while the engine turns (unless aircon is on of course). |

I got a noise like that from my A/C magnetic clutch bearing when I overtightened the drive belt. This eventually knackered the bearing. At least you can buy the clutch assembly separate from the compressor which saves a bit of dosh. |
