Seems that most of the parts can now be purchased for a full rebuild. Recently added are brand new CHRA or bearing assemblies to teh average punter.

Lots of usefull specifications too such as compressor wheel & turbine wheel dims, shaft dia.

Also interesting to see some similarities between CT26/CT20b and the landcruiser CT20 - http://www.melett.com/turbo-parts-catal ... a-ct20.pdf

Not that I am suggetsing you even consider rebuilding your own turbo!

This is great info cause no one in the states will touch a ct20.

Maybe with this info I can get it rebuilt or upgraded in the future.

What about ATS Racing in Texas?

They should be able to rebuild one fine - I bought a turbo from them in the past.

They might now. I remember years ago, the majority of the 3sgte shops here acted like there was something so unknown about the turbo that not much could be done for it.

I had been interested in finding out if it was more economical to get an try and get the ct20b upgraded or get a gt28 instead.

This company offers repair parts and 360 degree thrust bearings.

I am wondering if one has an extra broken ct20 laying around if they might make a fairly inexpensive upgrade for their car.

It is very interesting comparing the internals of the two turbos.
It seems that the blade on exhaust side of the turbo is slightly smaller than the 185 ct26 and the intake side is larger for the st205.

I have one that was taken apart by a turbo-rebuild company over here in the Netherlands... and then they found out that they couldn't repair it...so they didn't bother to put it back to gether again.

It's like a 3d Jigsaw puzzle now :D

Now that companies are offering the 205 with billet wheel replacements, I wonder if one might just get a new steel wheel meant for the wrc ct20b and convert it. The companies offering rebuilt steel ct20s here seem promising, but sadly they seem to be the only ones providing dynos.
