Hiya

I would like to show people another side of me I have a real passion for animals and anyone who knows me will back me up on this

I have at the moment 4 snakes, a parrot and 2 dogs, at one point I had 4 dogs, 3 parrots, snakes, fish, plus avairies where I bred birds, etc, etc

Anyway I will do this one at a time and the first one is my albino burmese python she is just over 2 years old, I have had her for 15months now when she was 778g and under 4ft long, heres a few pics of angel on christmas day, shes over 10ft long now and weighing in at 7.5kg, she has the potential to grow to anything up to 20ft long with a girth thicker than my thigh but shes a proper babe and absolutely loves the interaction with anyone but definitely has an eye for me, she follows me around and curls up either on or with me, shes proper awesome and am sure you will all agree her colours are a real treat shes not like other snakes she actually seems to like being tickled under her chin which I find really funny for a snake  ;-)

Had her out chilling in our bedroom the other night while I was waiting for the wife to get ready

Off for a stroll on our bed

Her head size compared to my hand

I had a 6 1/2 stone dark faze Burmese male for a little while along with 8 others, just down to my Royal and Solomon’s Ground Boa now, decided to scale down when I came back from Germany, massive regrets, especially over the Rainbow Boa. Dorris

Anybody happen to have pet pygmies?

Depending on the final snake tally a couple should do it. Then it's pie time

It was snake and ale pie at the meet, not snake and pygmy

Martin, how on earth do you look after these guys when they grow to full length? At least my Bengal can be left to his own devices and 'live off the land' (nick other cats food) for a day or two. His Asian Leopard Cat great grandad must know to steer clear of snakes!

Mine was a Columbian Rainbow and I called her Jasmine. The Burmese I acquired off a girl who lived in the block on camp she claimed it hadn’t eaten in 18 months, which is possible. In the end she had to get it out the block as all the other girls complained but within 2 weeks of getting him he had eaten again.
I had him for about 2 years, we never measured him but the girl who had him before me said her and a few friends tried to measure him once and got some readings between 12½ and 13½ feet long so it was accepted at 13 feet.
When we brought him back to the UK we put him in a double duvet case and put him on the scales up the police dog section and was a bit shocked when he came in at just under 6 ½ stone, he certainly felt like it too. The last I heard he went to Banham zoo but that was 13 years ago now.

Snakes I’ve had,

Male Royal Python, Arnie (soft as a cuddly toy)
Female Royal Python, Athena, (a real sweetie but finicky eater)
Female Solomon’s Ground Boa, Boda, (feisty with attitude)
Male Corn, Axle (mischievous and freakishly long)
Female Tangerine Corn, Alanis (a feminist with a nasty attitude)
Female Colombian Rainbow Boa, Jasmine (a real soft cutie)
Boa Constrictor, Taz (a pretty boy who would eat anything)
Male Western Hognose, Dritz (frisky ugly nut job)
Male Burmese Python, Racelin (lazy)

All but the Female Royal I had at the same time along with a couple lizards I was looking after plus then my Dalmatian Dizzy so it was time to scale down.
Now its just Arnie and Boda, my first 2 snakes, Kaya my other Dalmatian and Gixie Moo, Vicky’s Black Lab.
By the way your albino is about the size my Taz was when I last saw him.
Dorris

We had a big extension done on the house before I went full time self employed so I was able to house her, if it wasnt for the extension I wouldnt of even considered housing a burmese, in the perfect world she would have her own room but we don`t live in these worlds so she has a large 7ft x 3ft x 3ft viv which is as big a viv as she`s getting  as you can see from the pics she`s handled a lot by anybody who I feel is confident enough to and wants to handle her so she`s out of her viv near every evening in the front room with us, she gets plenty of excercise and its really strange but she really does like to be out and about with us, ive handled a lot of large and smaller snakes and never come across one like her

Biggest problem handling her at full size is the weight, as fit as I am she aint gonna be hanging over my shoulders for long lengths of time

Martin

Bloody hell can`t imagine a burmese going on hunger strike, my royal and rainbow boa do all the time but the burmese and the red tail boa constrictor are like dustbins, I reckon they would eat to explosion if I let em

They just get 10%ish of there bodyweight once a fortnight at the moment
