There's even talk of building de-salination plants to boost water supply. Water companies need to fix their leaks and build some more reservoirs.

A couple of weeks ago they were filming a report on 'britain in drought' just up the road from my office. They picked up a spot where a load of gravel has deposited just below the bridge and filmed from the right angle looks like a dry river bed with a trickle running beside it. This is it's normal state except during & after periods of heavy rain.

The same spot this morning, and the level's dropped about 4 inches from when I nearly didn't get through last night.

I'm currently digging some drainage to actually get rid of some of the standing water from my back garden... We'd love a drought up here!
We had 2 days of sunshine in April, we called it summer.

0.8mm of rain forecast here for tomorrow. Don't know why they bother, I will probably double that if I get a good sweat on while cycling

Mind you, round here it probably means 23:59:55 of sun and 5s of fire hydrant
