Looks like my landlord has done me a favour writing to me to tell me to remove the small outdoor store outside my factory. For years, this has been a store for me to dump my old scrap and every so often someone would come round looking for scrap and give me £20 to get rid of it.

Anyway, loaded up the contents into my trailer and took it to the local scrap metal place this morning - and walked away with £210 !!!!

Handful of old brake drums / disks / bottom arms etc. £10 (£180/ton)

15 lead acid batteries £175 (10 of these were large 110AH ones)(£400/ton)

Standard 185 rads £10 each (£2000/ton)

Sadly, my old golpher ali rad only fetched £3-75 (£750/ton)

So when's the next curry night, I need to celebrate !!!!

The only thing to suffer is the environment thanks to all the extra methane....

That's only showing £395 / ton for batteries.

I think I heard lead is going for £2K / ton so they're still doing pretty well by the time they've safely disposed of the acid.

When I get a call out

I may be in for a 2 day visit up to Letchworth 2nd half of next week for track repairs, weather permitting. I'll know more when I order materials on Monday.
