Post subject:  CS/RC numbered plaque

My RC doesn't have it's plaque fitted as I believe some are removed before export from Japan so I don't know it's number.
Is this shown in the owners manual as mine has the number 460 in large print inside the cover but everything else in in Japanese?.
Also I see on Turbocelica.nl that a black car number 430 in the UK is unclaimed, does anyone own or know anything about this car?
If I do manage to identify my car how can I obtain a new plaque?.
Thanks

Someone more knowledgeable will be able to confirm but I don't believe that the RC's came with a numbered plaque - only the CS.

I seem to remember seeing a photo of a plaque in an RC.
Are there any RC owners out there who can help?

I'll ask Lewis.

From everything I've heard over the years, I believe that most of the RC's did not have one stuck on, but they were given with paperwork to the owners in Japan. So they didn't necessarily stick it anywhere. Also I have heard that some were stuck on the front of the glove compartment. I have no idea if this is fact. Maybe someone in Japan can tell us!

That could be the case with mine as there's no sign of a plaque having been removed from anyway in the cabin. It seems as though there's no way of finding out it's number but they seem to be upwards from 150 after the Australian cars. I wonder if mine's 430 which is a black one unaccounted for on Turbocelica.nl. Would be nice to find out if anyone out there can help.

Maybe you could email him and ask if he knows who submitted that info to him and if he has the reg, as you're not sure if it's yours.

I tried him before I first posted and didn't get a reply but I suppose it's worth trying again.

The '430' entry in the register isn't 'unclaimed - it simply didn't have a photo submitted when it was added by the owner. The fact that they knew it was number 430 indicates that it had it's LE numbered plaque present - so it's unlikely the same car as yours. There are lots of different hypothesis as to why few RC still have their plaque - the plaque was not fitted by Toyota, but came in the glovebox with the owners pack( certificate, plaque and a pre-recorded cassette tape) in a numbered envelope - it seems most Japanese owners didn't apply them, but those that did generally fitted them in the wrong position.
There is no way to determine the number once lost - unless you're lucky and some dilligent googling reveals a picture or info about your car. I have identified 2 cars from hours of online research, so it can be done.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to respond, it looks like there's no way of telling.
