I am sure I have asked this before, but do you need the front driveshaft damper? They are stupid money from Toyota, will the car be OK without one? Alternatively is there a non toyota version available?

Why not just get another driveshaft with one on ? The car would run ok without in the short term, but do you know what speed it will go into resonance and self destruct after a period of time ?
