Hi,

if you have enough time keep on waiting, i started a carbon airbox built with a company in CZ last week, so possible in late summer of fall we have a box for our cars,
but i must say that this very depends on the price and construction so currently it is just the beginning so no specific datas yet

What are you trying to achieve with a straight air intake? The OEM flat panel filter in the stock airbox is very efficient and sucks in cool air from the resonator in the inner wing well away from hot air in the engine bay. It might not look sexy but it does a very good job.

The clone of the TTE airbox/plenum which Sunny is working on would be worth considering if you are looking to upgrade the stock system.

Ive not got a stock intake anymore and as my oem induction hose has started to perish I thought I could make a straight air intake and run a cold air feed to it by removing the headlight whilst on track. There are 2 hoses coming off my intake currently, one is for the crankcase breather, whats the other that connects to a hardpipe behind the block? There is also what looks like a intake temps sensor thats just rattling around inside the engine bay. I havent had any problems running so what effect is it having?

cheers guys

The second pipe is to the idle up valve. Either make a hole for it or fit a small filter to it.

the sensor is the intake temp. Ideally make a hole for it in the pipe, faili that stick it in the cold air box next to the filter.

So I can get away without welding any holes on the intake pipe if I place a mini filter on the idle up valve and fit my catch can (vented to atmos) to the crankcase breather!

thats brilliant, thought I was going to find it a little more complicated as I dont have access to a welder.

cheers chris

It would be advantageous to put the inlet temp sensor in there, but that just needs a hole and gromet the right size. My 185 doesn't have inlet air temp so I just have a straight piece of pipe (hence my first post)
