Been looking for a stopper for ages and had really hit a brick wall until Meurz introduced me to rhdjapan. looks like they sell this brake cylinder stopper at less than £100 delivered. If thats the correct stopper in the picture however, christ knows how it fits ![]() http://www.rhdjapan.com/j-speed-brake-c ... lica-52729 Marcus |

Have you got any pics of yours Louis? I can imagine these are worth fitting, but definitely not worth paying £100 for a small metal bracket! |

I'll be honest and say I havent really had a good look as to how to fabricate one, if however they are as easy as you say then I'll have a go myself and maybe even paint it red afterwards!!! ![]() |

I have one of these, got it from eBay a few months ago when this topic came up before. Just to point out, it will not fit if your car still has its ABS. I am currently deciding wether to remove the ABS on my car which I have reservations over or to not use the stopper. |

Mike - I've never had ABS on mine and its never had any problems stopping, yeah if your on snow or ice then it will make a difference, but in normal mixed road conditions and on track the lack of ABS is no problem IMO. I have found that ABS ST205s have better pedal feel than non ABS though, but that seems about the only benefit. |

yea mike, mine is a non abs model and as long as its removed properly you'll not have any problems, dont worry about it. just think of the weight and space you will save. You certainly dont want to be trying to do it with the engine in the car mind. p.s. If you decide you dont want to use the stopper, let me know and i'll take it off your hands ![]() marcuss |

In my mind the benefits of abs make it worth keeping. It didn't save me from being torpedoed on a roundabout but it has saved me from a couple of unexpected attacks. Stopping power isn't the issue and won't change. If you watch professional pedalers you still see human "jump on the brakes" reflex come to the fore in extremis and many crashes are preceded by locked brakes and smoke - all the limit braking skillz in the world don't help I only removed mine because it failed and made the car dangerous and Hannibal doesn't battle traffic that often these days Removal in with the engine in situ is possible. It's not difficult but it is annoying as there's lots of pipe wrangling in tight areas. IIRC you need to let the clutch cylinder and pressure valve go as well as scratching your head loads |
