Just found an interesting article in NZ Performance Car about a 400bhp ST205 with a Caldina side feed plenum. nice wire tucking in the top pic, are the caldina manifolds a big improvement, i suppose it gives better route than the center feed for the fmic pipes |

Mostly the side feeds tidy up the intercooler pipework. I doubt there's much if any performance benefit. You really want to go to ITB's for improved throttle response but that's not cheap ![]() |

member on OC is saying that the longer runner length is giving more response with the st215 IM. What conversion multiplier are you using to get from hub kw to bhp? Quite curious as I've never seen anyone state the shootout mode multiplication from the euro rolling road results. |

DON... why oh why did you have to post a pic of my mungrel next to that stunning white effort.... ![]() ![]() Hey everyone. Here's a stunner from New zealand. ![]() oh. and here's my mates Mrs... ![]() Oh well. I'll get there... Full report is as follows. Adrian at Fensport is unfamiliar with this manifold with regards to the flow characteristics. Therefore without Evidence from the plugs it is difficult to work out what each individual cylinder is actually doing. (rich, lean) This has resulted in a loss of 1.5-2 degrees of ignition advance at the top end versus the centre feed. Which Adrian knows VERY well. This unfortunately in turn has raised my EGTs. With development I'm hoping this can be reversed. The side feed takes less fuel at low revs and more at the top. It also changed my exhaust note and screamer tone. Didn't expect that.. ![]() Drivability has in-fact improved. Off boost it feels closer to a NA. Spool up is unchanged. Kick from turbo as it comes on boost is harder so I can only guess (hope) it has improved initial torque. The car in-fact feels faster. Even though I've lost advance. I thought I was trying to convince myself, but others have commented independently. In short I'm damn happy with the out come. But I'm not having to keep an eye on everything whilst i'm driving. Hopefully was can have the flow figures sussed by start of November. ready for the next Map. |

It sounds like data is needed from 4 widebands or 4 EGT's to compare flow imbalance. I believe Don has his manifold drilled for 4 egt's for this very purpose. |

![]() yes but itbs are alot easier on n/a cars, are they on many turbo machines? what would you use, wrc corolla later manifold? what are you going using on your build? |
