I used some stainless braided ones and had nothing but trouble with them. I reverted to new OEM ones eventually.

Some folks have run them without issue. IMO it depends on the design. It they are an olive compression type fitting there could be problems. If they are crimped and swaged they might be better.

OEM for no hassle though. :)

ok i was just concidering them because there just as expensive as the oem (if not a little cheaper)
we put braied lines on my mates s14 and they made a bit of a difference i rang hel and they said they would be £103 for the kit but im not sure if the kit incjudes the brackets
Do yous think that they would make much difference

I'm for braided lines - if they fit correctly - there has been a problem on the braided ST205 lines with the bracket that mounts to the front shock.

Braided lines are better than the OEM rubber ones because they do not expand under pressure.

I agree, and vote OEM as I too had problems with 'weepy' braided lines.

I would fit braided lines for the performance improvement, but I've not see a set that fits properly yet...

I fitted braided lines on my old escort rally car, mainly for the extra strength and resistance to cuts from flying stones. I didn't notice any difference in pedal feel so I suspect the expansion of normal lines is minimal.
The main downside is that braided lines don't allow you to see the condition of the pipe underneath so failure takes you by surprise as it did with me.
