I wasn't really sure where to put this, it's about trackdays, but involves mods. :?

Just how loud is 100dB(A)?
Apart from trackside, where can I get my car tested?

I have a 3" downpipe and a 2.5" Mongoose system, so I am not expecting to have any trouble, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

100dB is loud

For reference my unbaffled Blitz comes in at 96-97 dB depending on who measures it
100dB is twice as loud as that, and the Blitz is not quiet

You should not have any isses, as you said

I have been trying to find out teh specs of each track for noise limits - they seem very fluffy on this subject - just liek steves info :-) (I would have expected more of you steve!)

No one semes to specify teh precise criteria of distance, rpm and if it shoudl be "A" weighted (dB or dB(A) ?? )

100dB & 100dB(A) are loud. 100dB(A) is only just noticeably louder than 97 dB(A) BUT - has twice the power level in Watts. (its a Logarithmic thing)

Where canm you get it measured - I can if you know the precise distance, rpm and weighting. I am an acoustic consultant so have all the kit :-)

I like to keep it simple

I don't know if you were at rallyday Doom

If so there were a pair of deafening R5 rally cars there. Bith (alledgedly lol) passed a 100dB limit

You could approach your local council/environment services section, they have the equipment to measure the noise (They are always out in Southend to catch the Chavs & also do work with complaints about noisy neighbours).
Only problem is that if your car is louder then the acceptable levels (Havent a clue what they are) they could demand you change the exhaust.

I would head down to your nearest circuit on a trackday before you intend to go and ask them if they will test your car.
