Post subject:  Apexi Filter

Finally got round to fitting the Apexi filter I bought a couple of months ago. Found the intake pipe on a local auction site, bolted it all together and here it is...

'Flutter' sound from the BOV is pretty cool. Much better than the usual ricer 'ptssshhh' noise you hear :roll:

When time permits I will be making up some form of enclosed airbox to keep the heat out. Fortunate enough to have a mate who can make things from carbon fibre :D

Mine also flutters greatly through my Apexi too ;-)

If you happened to come up with any drawings for a carbon cold air intake they would be most useful lol

Whats the silver T shaped piece coming off the intake pipe going to the black bit (great terminology..lol)?

unlike the cs steve the bov goes into the airbox on a 205 (i believe) unlike the cs the inlet of a recirculating bov has to go in after the afm

Do they do an Apexi filter like the one above for our st185 CS's?

it does but you may have to redrill the holes to attach it to the afm

Thanks gents....you say universal eh.....cool...cheap to buy....however....how do I go about buying the adaptor plate needed ofr my st185 CS?

I want one..... :D

Steve, keep in mind our CS AFM (left) is a tad bigger than the 185 AFM (right):

Therefore I don't expect a gt4 flange to fit even after adjusting the holes. I have an A'PEXi myself (Still in it's box that is :lol: ) and I'm going to make a custom flange, which will look like this:

I still have to adjust the tech. drawing a bit, I could use a bit thinner aluminium..

Let me know how you get on with your adaptor plate. If it works you could get some made up for GT4 owners.....that will be very nice.

Hadn't seen the CS vs the 185 AFM side by side before.

It's quite surprising the size increase of the AFM on the CS!

Looking at the bottom of the three smaller pictures you can see that the 4 holes are in the same place.....or thereabouts anyway. What therefore stops the cone being fitted to the CS?

The bottom pic shows the turbo side of the AFM, which I'll connect with a hose (80 mm ID) to a straight intake. In the pic in the middle you see the AFM side - you can see the bolting points don't even come close to the normal AFM..
