Depending on the weight saving involved on the bank account I'm interested!

I asked a local carbon fiber factory, and costs will be around 300 euros for the stamp and 320 euros for the panel ( 7 mq2 of fiber for 5mm thick panel ).
So the stamp cost will be divided to all the people interested...

You have then to add the price of the Toyota stock rubber glass roof gasket, if you won't able to re-use yours...

Edit: I know it's expensive... but I'd really love to reduce a mass so high (height) in the car... it's very important...

I know, mate...
a thinner panel would be way cheaper, but it won't have the correct rigidity to offer a good sealing at very high speed...
The prices i wrote are for 1 piece... I still have to ask if there would be any discount for more pieces...

The price of cf is ridiculoas these days

If you're going back with more questions it might be worth asking if it could be made with a single carbon ply to look good and grp for bulk.

I've been trying to find ways of fitting an old fashioned popup style sunroof. You loose the slide but the whole toyota sunroof mechanism wieghs a ton

I got a reply this morning!
Yes, they intended to use full carbon sheets for the job, to have a good finishing even in the internal side.
Using 1 ply of carbon and fiberglass for the rest will cost 120 euros LESS for the panel, that is to say 200 euros for the panel, plus the stamp's cost to be divided between all the people interested.

Actually I'm asking them if in 1 m2 it's possible to get 2 panels instead of one as in their calculation:
this will lower again the price...

Ok, given that I found at least 4 people interested, price for one panel will be 280 euros!
Please let me know IN FEW DAYS if someone is interested, because it'll be a "now or never again" production :D
