Post subject: | Bride Subframes for Sidemount seats |
I am trying to fit some Cobra Suzuka S seats http://www.carnoisseurdirect.com/epages ... %205786%22 to my St185 and looking for suitable subframes. The seats are side mount and I have the aluminium side mount brackets. What I am looking for is any suitable subframes for them. Ideally if Bride does them, does anyone know what model is required for a sidemount seat?? I do have some bride subframes designed for typical Recaro basemount seats which I will be using for a set of Recaro seats (for road / MOT time) hence I don't really want to start butchering them for the sidemounts. For the above reason, ideally I don't want to start welding in race type fixed mounts as it woudl prevent fitment of a more road friendly seat & frame. Any bright ideas/advice welcome. |

Rocking Horse and poo come to mind. Short of welding in transverse tube/bar like I have on my track toy I would look at drawing your own design to use the existing seat frame mounting points on the floor of the chassis and transmission tunnel then getting it fabricated. It'd be a doddle for you after doing my IC/Rad design! |

That's what I've had to do as well on my 185. You could pop along to Edge and take a look I'm sure Steve wont mind. (Tell them I sent you ![]() I do have some 205 custom built "frames" that you can have a look at to get some ideas with regards designs - if that's any help. |

I have my Cobra Daytona recliners on Bride frames, they do base mount and side mount versions. Are these the puppies you're after? http://www.rhdjapan.com/bride-fx-type-l ... rail-12010 |

They are the puppies Mook. Or I hope so anyway. Now just to find somewhere that sells them with sensible slow boat shipping charges ![]() |

JP, with your track record I bet even these side mounts won't let your anatomically challenged physique fit in the car ![]() |

I am hoping that the combination of no sunroof and thin base seats will allow enough room for my big head & helmet ![]() I have sat in a few cars without sunroof and that seems to get rid of the majority of the issue. In order to check fitment before hitting teh BIN button I will sit my seat & sidemount brackets on my base mount Bride seats which will give me the same height as the FX Bride frames. Fingers crossed! |
