and subsequently need some direction lol.

My friend Jonno is going with the more conventional route of a VF22 on his EJ20, so I had the opportunity to pick up his holset hx35 for $500, which I did.

Now, with respect to the gen3 3sgte from the st205, I basically want to road map the direction I need to get this big puppy running.

My plans already involve moving towards a Link G4 Storm ECU (lots of support and tuners here in NZ as the Link is NZ designed and built) after I get a baseline power reading from the ct20b/ct26r2 and A2A setup using the st215 side feed mani.

So looking at things that I will need in the future to run the holset.

Are the 540 injectors sufficient for this setup? Talking with friends with skylines, they seem to run really small injectors and a lot of them decap and flow match to get better performance. They all seem to think that the 540's are huge with respect to the engine.

Fuel pump - walbro 255 okay?

Fuel lines - was thinking about upgrading to 10mm? lines using the copper nickel piping. Have to think about that in the early stages really (well I assume so..)

Ex mani - do I need to move to a balanced design? Guy on local toyota forums produces balanced exhaust mani with t3 flange that fits gen3/gen4 engines for $600NZ made from steam pipe - like this but coated piping:

Um, what else do I need to know? lol. Its one of the areas which I have never really explored, with respect to upgrading turbos and just nod my head when my friends talk technical data and flow rates (much like they would when I talk technical about something hahaha.

Thanks
Dave :)

The Holset HX35 seems to be roughly equivalent to a Garrett GT35 so if that is the case then I'd imagine you will face similar challenges in getting it running on a 3S-GTE. Injectors would almost certainly have to be at least 800s or better still 1000's assuming you will be flowing a lot of air at 450+bhp with the turbo spooling from about 4000 rpm. Holsets are generally used as a truck turbo. A quick Google confirms that people have tried matching an HX35 to a 3S-GTE. The video below shows a 400bhp @ 1bar boost 3S-GTE http://bluesplayer.co.uk/youtube_blues/ ... S-GTE.html

Yeah - i've followed xitchyx's build for a while now. Last I read, he was selling the setup.

I'll do some research on what others have done with a gt35 :)

A very quick search has not revealed any compressor maps but I agree 100% with Don. Injectors will need to be upgraded

The holset UK specs this turbo for 5-6l making 200hp. If that's diesel that's a whole lotta air and high torque. If it's petrol it must be a Ford

well I do have two options: hybrid hx30 with 35 internals, though Jonno was having issues with the exhaust inlet size being a possible restriction. And this 35, which was suppose to be a solution for him, but he wanted to sell to recoop from.

Don't understand the ford reference - elaborate?

I'll figure out more on this later. Need to bounce to a job interview in 5mins
