Hi,

how do you feel that the turbo seal is gone?

the engine burns oil if they they are damaged you can see this by smoke out of the muffler and when you check the engine oil level

When the turbo seals go you usually get white/blue smoke from the exhaust after a few minutes idle time. If your symptoms match then it does look like turbo seals.

think I may have sorted the turbo out :O) bin chatting to my mate and he say that I might of bin smoking because of the battery being flat and the ECU and all the electrics not getting the power they need to run properly, and thinking about it the only times it has smoked is when the battery has been flat and the alternator was not working, I stared it yesterday morning with a full battery and there wasn't any smoke and the same when I stared it tonight now that the alternator and battery are ok it didn't smoke, so hoping that is all it is

You really need to take the Four for a blast down the dual carriageway, park up then let it idle for 5 to 10 minutes. If the turbo seal have gone then it will start smoking.

Its worth noting that the 3S-GTE engine has a reputation for 'breathing' quite heavily so its quite common for there to be lots of water vapour come out the exhaust on a cool day. It looks like smoke but its actually just vapour. This will mostly disappear when the engine warms up.

then fitted to the car with a cold air piping going in to the box

not shore weather to fit a lid on it as it is a good fit to the liner under the bonnet which is acting like a lid plus I and benefiting from the vent on the top.

just a bit of an update, I went back to Weston performance today to get the map looked at and they found it to be over fuelling lots :( but the good news is that they have now remapped it and it is pushing 353bhp and 300ft/lbs of torque at the fly wheel   and all this power gains is from having an alternator that works :)

if it came off the WRC then its most likely a steel shaft.
