The superstrut setup on the front is rather different as the shock is effectivly decoupled from the wheel axis. You could in effect add 45 degrees camber and the shock would still only be vertically loaded. There may be other bad side effects though

Hi Wolf,

as i also plan to buy them i will ask you,

- are you happy with the BC coilovers?
- do you choosed the BR series?
- is the piston stronger against the TEIN? BC = 44mm
- any problems by welding the SS on it, what kind of welding do you have done?

hope you will find the time to answer :)

I'm VERY happy.

BUT, first of all, I must say i was not so happy with TEIN just because the TEINs are for stock weight car and they didn't allow you the height regulation like the BC.

Yes

Sorry ?! Piston stronger ?!

Unfortunately yes.
The BC adapter for SS leg is 0.5/0.7mm SMALLER than the hole in which you have to weld the adapter in.
So, unfortunately, you, FOR SURE, won't be able to keep the stock damper angle because the adapter has room for moving, and the same angles between the two dx & sx BC dampers.
That's why I personally re-made new adapters on a lathe with diameter 0.1 mm BIGGER than the SS leg hole, so I had to hammer it in.

Hi Wolf,

i'am speaking from the diameter of the piston from the damper :)

0,5/0,7mm is definitely to much and not safe, the adapter should have the same diameter or like yours a little bit bigger, i should speak with them before i buy

Sunny, so you meant bigger, not stronger!
No, i don't know piston's difference in diameter between them.

No, they are not going to send you 0.5mm bigger adapters:
I already talked to them in Taiwan, and they told me their measurement of stock leg is correct... so my legs were wrong! :)
So you could simply put a 0.25mm metal sheet around the adapter to fill the gap.

I'd certainly be very uncomfortable with using adapters with that much gap

It means that the collar weld s taking all the strain and it's quite possibly not the best weld in the world as I suspect there's dissimilar metals involved

Shim steel should work but I like Wolf's idea much better

It may be worth sending a PM to Ray (yellowchinaman) at RT Performance as, IIRC, he did some R&D for BC.

You have a good sight

I welded them for a future plate for brake cooling...
